WINDOWS 11: 5 NEW FEATURES

Personalize your desktop experience

1. Snap Layouts

Users can change the size of programmes on their desktop with this functionality. The snapped layout also stays in place when you add other apps to the layout.
When you save a Snap Layout with your apps, it becomes a Snap Group. When you hover over an app in an existing snap layout in the taskbar, it displays all of the apps in that layout. Snap Group is the name of this functionality. You can choose a group, and all of the apps will open in the same way. You can switch between Snap Groups as you add more by selecting the Snap Group.

2. Start Menu

Some programmes are automatically pinned to the Start menu. You can change the appearance of the Start menu by pinning (and unpinning) the apps you wish. You can, for example, pin frequently used apps in your company, such as Outlook, Microsoft Teams, apps your company builds, and more.

3. Android Apps in Windows

Users in the Windows Insider programme can now download and install AndroidTM apps through the Microsoft Store starting with Windows 11. The Windows Subsystem for Android is a feature that allows users to utilise Android apps on their Windows devices in the same way that they can use apps from the Microsoft Store.

4. Windows Autopilot

If you're buying new gadgets, Windows Autopilot can help you set them up and configure them. Users check in with their company account (user@contoso.com) when they receive the device. Autopilot prepares them for usage in the background and deploys any apps or policies you specify. Windows Autopilot may also be used to reset, reuse, and recover devices. Admins can deploy Autopilot with zero effort.

5. Taskbar

On the Taskbar, you may also pin (and unpin) apps. You can, for example, pin frequently used apps in your company, such as Outlook, Microsoft Teams, apps your company builds, and more. You may deploy your customised Taskbar to devices in your organisation using policies. See Customize the Taskbar in Windows 11 for additional details.
